International Mother Language Day 2020

On February 21st, the International Mother Language Day, a creative workshop was organized under the motto "The Mother Tongue - a Spiritual Wealth to be Nurtured and Preserved" with pupils from the sixth to the ninth grade, where pupils were creating and, at the same time, enriching their knowledge of their mother tongue, its origin, development and importance in maintaining cultural identity.
UNESCO proclaimed February 21st as World Mother Language Day at its General Conference in 1999.
Languages are the most powerful instrument for preserving and developing our material and spiritual heritage.
All efforts to promote the spread of the mother tongue serve to fully develop awareness of linguistic and cultural traditions around the world. Pupils are also inspired to develop solidarity based on understanding, tolerance and dialogue.
